Hi,

 

We are using BusinessObjects 4.1 SP2 Patch 3. We have recently migrated our BO Audit universe from DEV to PROD environment. The Universe was pointing to the DEV Audit DB through a relational connection UBD. In PROD, we have a separate relational connection UBP pointing to PROD Audit DB.

Now we want to change the Universe connection in PROD repository from UBD to UBP.

 

We can successfully retrieve the universe from PROD repository in a local folder. Change it's connection from UBD to UBP, test and save it locally and then successfully publish the universe back into the PROD repository.

 

However the Universe object in the PROD repository is not getting updated with UBP connection. It still keeps pointing to UBD connection. Can anyone suggest how to update the Universe connection in the repository?

maximum character output size limit reached

While importing data in Lumira using HANA based universes I am getting an error maximum character output size limit reached. Will appreciate any info on which server parameter controls this property. Attached the error message.

Hi Nanda,

 

Thanks Nanda for your quick response.

 

1. We are not sure what happened at that time. The process servers were fine in CPS and all SAP servers were also fine at that time. I checked the operator message for the process server and I don't see anything logged for that time frame.

 

3. There were atleast 25 different jobs got failed in CPS during that time and I don't see any jobs got pushed to SAP during that time frame and all these jobs got ended up in ERROR in CPS.

 

Here is the log for 1 job

4. The alert emails from the job chains were working fine during that time, so I assume this is just related to 1 SAP process server.

 

5. The status of the queue is Green but I was not sure what it was during that time.

 

6. The jobs never got pushed into SAP and they just ended up in error in CPS

 

All the jobs after this time window ran successfully with no issues.

EKPO Table adjusted in SE14 and records deleted

Hi Team,

 

We worked on enhancing the EKPO table by adding one field to CI_EKPODB table. We did a DB Adjust and selected save and activate database options. We thought we wont loose the data. But unfortunately we lost the data and we need to recover it back.

 

The DB table in underlying database is generated and hence DB admin says flashback is not possible.

 

1. My question is it possible to flashback the table which got generated. Meaning Will SE14 operation do a drop table and create table for modifiying and adjusting the DB table in Underlying DB. Kindly confirm.

 

2. Let us know the recovery procedures for one single table which got deleted in SAP

Early Archiving to one workitem with multiple attachments

I have a requirement to be able to attach multiple attachments to one workitem using early archiving.  Customer would like multiple windows to open, one per attachment when workitem executes.

 

The original data is being entered using Web Dynpro.  If the FI document is not able to be created for whatever reason, we would like like to capture the data entered in PDF format.  In addition to the PDF the user will likely have to attach supporting documentation.

 

Any ideas on how to acheive this?

Thank you, Brian and Dell.

 

As Dell said, creating a second Group Footer section, moving one of the subreports there and formatting the top section to underlay the following didn’t work, but Brian suggestion sure put me on the right track.

 

What I did was to create a Page Header b section, move the chart subreport there and format that section to overlay the following Group Footer section with the list subreport.

 

And it worked like magic!

 

Isn’t it great when we achieve (with a big help from my friends) something that seemed just impossible?

The screen shot from LFA1 does not really convince me. As it is already more than a decade that SAP does not use LFA1 for addresses. already with a 4.0B or something release SAP came up with central address management. So you need to look up the address number in LFA1 and then you need to see what you have in ADRC table for this address number.

And SAP does not automatically translate something that was entered in Japanese characters to Zulu language , so this value must have been taken from somewhere else than LFA1.

In general you should not have a mixture of different language in one record.

Using different languages in different fonts is usually covered with International address versions.

With this you get an extra button in your vendor master address screen and you maintain the address once in the Japanese  and once with the international characters. SAP will then choose the address version case based, eg, Japan to Japan business it will use Japanese, and Japan to other countries it will use the alternative address version.

in XD03 you can only see what was maintained.

you have to check in XD02 or XD01

there is no need for VOTXN,

I just did it before I answered, it worked right away

Hi,

 

purchasing workflow (including contracts) are usually started by an event from the release strategy, not by the change documents.

 

If an event is raised which starts the standard workflow this means that the event customizing is active.

check:

  • the event log - swel - (activation by swels) for behavior of the workflows (yours and the standard)
  • just to make sure, check that you marked the linkage as active in swe2
  • check starting conditions (if you added them)
  • check that the same event is used to start the workflows
  • check the event binding of your workflow

Production Order Component Sorting Options

Hi, We are creating a Shop Floor Production Order Packet Print which needs to contain the components of the BOM (Including Phantom Materials)

When Printing the BOM components on the report we want it to be sorted in such a way that it maintain the BOM level integrity.

If I display a Production order (CO03) and display the Component Overview I have a selection box where I can choose from different sort options.

Sort option ST_BOM will sort the component list in the order I wish to use.  (See attachment) Is there a function module or some way in configuration to determine the sort logic being used for this sort?  I have tried looking in RESB table to see if I can recreate the logic but it seems as though a number of different fields are involved.  Since ST_BOM already does the work for me I was hoping to reproduce it's logic in my report.

 

Any ideas.


Still getting "The report filename was empty" error

I tried re-opening this earlier discussion...

 

"The report filename was empty" rears its ugly head again

 

... after this error came back; we moved our data source and I had to switch from using the viewer SDK to the engine SDK. Since I haven't seen any replies, I thought I should try creating a new discussion thread. It seems that my report which has parameters will work with the engine/ReportDocument code, but the one without parameters produces the above error. The sample code is in the other thread so I won't re-copy it here unless advised to do so. I really need to get this resolved so any guidance is greatly appreciated.

I totally agree with you. Are you on higher version than ECC 5.0? because I checked in ECC 6.0(other server) and its working fine (Only OBT2 settings and no VOTXN) but we are on ECC 5.0 and I am not sure if this version don't support but we are having this issue. I could not find any SAP notes either.

 

Yes - I cant find these texts in XD01 or XD02 either.

Entering Effective-Dated Rows into Infotype 1613 in OM on a Position

Why does SAP not allow you enter more than one entry under OM infotype 1613 (Workers Compensation Code) for a position.  We are trying to correct the current code by entering a new effective dated record and it does not allow us to do it.
