That's entirely normal and good practice and pretty well documented in the pattern books.
The only thing I have never done is use the default database as a standalone installation although it should be possible. Many people use their own database deployments as they will already have established backup and DR processes.
It's good practice as you can expand individual tiers without changing affecting the overall architecture. For larger deployments you can even separate the management (CMS and supporting servers) from the reporting servers but that may be overkill for you.

User parameter can be reason like a EFB parameter that you can see in SU01. Please check it...
User might be restricted for conditions.

Hi all, I am trying to create an Additional Properties Sheet for our Custom Component, where users can upload a file to a URL. I realized this by adding a FORM element named "test_form" with a file Input. There is also a button calling the following JavaScript. While this works fine in a local web page executed in IE or Chrome, in DesignStudio the second alert is not triggered. So I bellieve there is something wrong with FormData. Though the AfterModify event is triggered, i cannot change any values or properties of the Standard fields. I get compile error that "Account" field is read-only. So I guess the standard field values and properties cannot be changed in the AfterModfiy event of an xBO is my understanding.

If your requirement is just to assign user groups to a single user who exists in the Portal, you can do that through Identity Management by searching for the user and by modifying the assigned groups.
If the user does not exist in the Portal and you wish to import the user and assign the groups simultaneously, you can use the Import feature of UME. Using the import functionality, all the user information will get imported, including the roles and groups assigned. Please refer to the below format:

First, find the field selection group where MARC-ABCIN is assigned using OMSR. Then you have to find the Field Reference of Article type FASH by clicking the Where-used List icon in transaction OMS9. Then select the Radio Button for Optional entry. This will make the field editable in MM41/MM42.

We have an Engineer-to-Order implementation for our client. Accordingly procurement is done per project. Each Project issues its PRs which are then converted to POs and recieved into Project Stock.
While assigning the material to the Network activity in Project (using material component) the system uses the price found in the material master (MAP or STD) as a planned cost appended to the project.
Problem:
while procuring the material, when we receive it into Project Stock (Mvt 101 Q + ) the Moving Average Price in the material master does not get updated. this way all newly created material master will never have a moving average price, thus whenever we try to assign them to the project we receive an error message (Cost for Material Component ###Mat.Num### cannot be determined.
Question:
How can I get the system to update moving average price (for all types of stock) based on procurement for project stock.???

You can create assets with any depreciation key and run dep in "Repeat" mode as long as FI & AA posting periods are open.
And since this is an exception, as malhar said, you will have to run Dep in "Repeat" mode manually.
