Re: Upgrade - restore backup to post-processing phase

Blair,

If you have taken a backup of the database before you started the database and also the SUM directory then you can easily start the downtime phase again.

You need to restore the database backup and delete or rename the current SUM directory and put the one you have backed up and start the downtime again.

Remember, you will also need to put the old profiles and kernel used by the system before the downtime. You will isolate the CI before starting the downtime as mentioned in the upgrade guide and start the downtime phase.

Re: Data Object Access Level best practise?

Thank you for you input Jocelyn and Christian.

much food for thought.

I have never really thought about object hierarchy but, if I understand correctly, it is possible to have a 'parent-child' relationship between applications (have I got that right?).

and this means that a data object created in the 'parent' application with Application Component access level should be visible in the 'child' applications.

the bit about the structure of projects (one big application versus many smaller applications) is something I am still struggling with. On one project I was involved in (although it did have several applications in it) the response in the workbench was glacial (literally minutes between mouse clicks) - we are in the process of refactoring this project.

Catalogs - I have not had much to do with so I do not really appreciate their value. I have come across enthusiastic comments about them in various discussions and blogs but I have not had the opportunity to investigate them.

so, my take from this is:

  1. global is ok but it may come with a performance hit
  2. Application Component access may be better
  3. be careful how projects are structured.

once again Jocelyn and Christian thanks for your input.

Is it possible to modify the Base Amount from Values (without tax) to Values (with taxes)?

Under Nota Fiscal document, what I know is that the Base Amount is equal to "Values(without taxes)" or NETWRT. I want to ask if is it possible to change this Base Amount to "Values with taxes" or NFNETT?

If possible, what t-code should I use to modify this? Or is this something about modifying the codes?

Note: The Nota Fiscal in here is created manually and the reference is a Material Document.

Thank you so much for all your help!

It hasn't been tested if it's not on the PAM list.

What issues are you seeing?  Could they be Java issues and not Windows Server?

I've always had best results with plain old Oracle (Sun) Java 1.6.

Matt

Issue with Parameters for Default Role Configuration

$

Hello GRC Mates,

I am working on configuring default roles. As part of the configuration I came across the parameters 2009 - 2013.

I would like to understand the purpose of the parameter 2011 - Default Role Level.

It has 2 options.

1) Request and

2) Role

What is the difference between Request and Role? Which one is recommended for selection?

Looking for input on this. Thanks in advance.

Deepak M

Hi Matt,

Thanks for the reply.

I have another problem in IDM MMC when setting up the OLE DB connection. Not sure it is the problem of OS.

HI Inder,

I think you need to add that manually in SCM system because if you are CIFing it will always give and error.

確認しました。ドメイン名 + ¥ + ログオンユーザー名が問題なく取得されています。

ちなみにSQL式フィールドのコードは以下の通りです。

SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV','OS_USER')

>また、この式では、"ドメイン名+¥+ユーザ名" と {%userName} を比較していますが、左辺と右辺の形式は>一致していますか。

両方とも文字列ですので問題ないはずです。(SupportPack6までは問題ありませんでした。)

何がおかしいのでしょうか?

Hi All,

I have a requirement where I have to send an excel as an attachment in an email and the attachment should be password protected. The requirement is from the HCM team where they send lots of sensitive data to third party vendors. Please let me know how to do this. I have researched the blogs for a definitive answer but never had one. I know its possible to download a password protection file to the presentation server using FM. Please assist.

Thanks,

Ashok Sahu

Hello Eric,

could you specific a bit more in detail by what you mean if a tag is closed?

Both tags <Text> and are correctly closed withhin your XML. The only difference is that the <Text> element contains no further elements.

Dominik
